About our Speaker:

Lory Markham

Born and raised on a Virginia farm just outside the City of Richmond, Lory Markham has always been fascinated by settlement patterns and how urban growth happens. Her professional history, market knowledge, and passion for making places better equip her to work toward the continued growth of Richmond.

After over a decade of experience as the Principal Planner for the City of Richmond serving as Secretary to the city’s Planning Commission, Lory started a planning consulting company, Markham Planning, and joined One South Commercial as a commercial real estate broker in 2017. Markham Planning has become a well-respected, small firm with extensive knowledge and connections in the City of Richmond. The firm focuses on entitlements and permitting for development in the City of Richmond with the goal of making the process as smooth and efficient as possible for the entire development team. Markham Planning has worked on hundreds of projects ranging in size from small residential additions to multimillion-dollar historic tax credit redevelopments to new construction of thousands of apartments in Richmond and the surrounding counties.

More recently, Lory has successfully completed the renovation of several historic Downtown properties using the Historic Tax Credit program in her own developments. Her extensive knowledge of the Richmond market, zoning and development review process, and neighborhood development has made her a prominent figure in the Richmond real estate market. Throughout her endeavors her focus remains on making places better and maximizing their potential.

Registration is REQUIRED by November 7th. November 8th through 10th registrations will be considered late and an extra fee is assessed.  Registration will be closed after November 10th.
