About our Speaker:
Robert Oberhand
Robert Oberhand is an entrepreneur in multiple dimensions of the business of real estate—always focused on investor deals. Today, he is exclusively engaged in the brokering of investor loans, plus his own personal investing.
Oberhand Financial LLC, his brokerage of investor loans, draws on Robert’s understanding of investor needs and challenges gained over years of hands-on experience. He has done loan origination, property acquisition and sales, development, landlording, foreclosure and distressed property investing, and the brokering of real estate notes in the investor aftermarket.
His first professional activity in real estate was as an originator for River Forest Financial of hard money loans for auction buyers of foreclosures at the Los Angeles County courthouse steps, in 2008.
In 2009–10, at the height of the foreclosure boom, he switched to the investor side, and utilized hard money loans to acquire millions of dollar’s worth of Los Angeles County fix-flip deals for himself, partners, and clients. He helped an associate start a hard money lending company which he then utilized for his own deals.
Over time, Robert acquired a California real estate broker license, and a Virginia real estate salesperson license.
The years 2011-18 saw growth in licensed sales, development deals, and notes brokering.
Robert moved to Richmond in 2019, and in that year, bought his first RVA investment property.
In addition to real estate activity, Robert has had a long career in communications, publishing, film and television graphics, advertising, design, and visual arts.
He has BA and MA degrees from UCLA.
